Ryan Gosling Almost Breaks Social Media On Father’s Day

Social media community goes crazy over Hollywood actor

The American Father’s Day holiday was an eventful one on social media, and almost a million of Ryan Gosling’s were fooled by a joke that was doing the rounds online. One of the many unofficial Ryan Gosling fan pages on Facebook posted a photograph of the Hollywood actor holding a baby, with a touching message about the period of time that Gosling apparently became a father.

The fake post began: “This father’s day, I’ve decided to tell the story of how I became a father.” The message continued: “This little guy was only 9 months old when I became his dad. His mom and I were great friends before she passed away from cancer. I promised her, I’d always look after him.”

The post then stated that Gosling committed to become the baby’s dad, but then the biological father fought him for custody, and won.

“That 1 year of being his father taught me how to love unconditionally,” the post added. “We have to stop and be thankful for our children and children should stop and be thankful for their parents.”

The post finally finished with: “What I truly learned most of all is, every child needs love.”

The fan reaction was monumental to the news that Gosling had become a father, and almost a million people liked the post, with more than 50,000 sharing it.

Many users took to the social networking site to say that the baby would be upset when he finds out that Gosling is not in fact his biological father. There were 20,000 comments of this nature, with one user writing: “Lol I would never let my biological father live that down…. Whaaat you took me away from Ryan Gosling!”

One user charmingly summed up the general feeling and stated: “Man. … he just made every woman’s ovaries explode……”

Despite the jubilation, it has now been confirmed that Gosling is not a father, and the account is unofficial, and as far as anybody knows, Gosling has never had custody of a child. There were even a host of people saying that they had seen posts of a similar nature on actor Bradley Cooper’s page.

Whilst this father’s day myth has been busted by the online community, it had a lot of people going for a bit, and who knows, the Gosling fan base may get to celebrate him becoming a father one day. And for the women who hold hope that it will be with them, there is bad news. He is still in a relationship with actress Eva Mendes.

Whilst the end result of this is pretty pointless, it does show just what can be done with a simple idea. Social media has become the platform for new information to filter through to the masses, and despite this being a risk also, it proves that it is the undisputed champion of breaking news.
