Five Tips To Boost Sales With Social Media

If used correctly, social media can have a great impact on sales for your business, and here you will find five tips on how to utilise the Internet. Some businesses opt not to take the social media route when trying to generate sales, but as consumers become more ‘social’ in their use of the internet, it is a requirement now for companies to use various sites to promote their product in order to gain customers, and ultimately sales.

When social media is mentioned in relation to business and marketing, people assume that Facebook and Twitter are the go-to networks, but it’s not just about being present on these sites. Using these and other networks to your companies advantage will produce better results as you are reaching out to more people.

Here are some tips on how to use social media to increase sales:

Make it easy for customers to locate you: Without customers there will be no sales, so it is first crucial to make sure you are doing everything in your power to lure them in. It is important to use social media in a way that makes it easier for your customers to buy from your products. Promoting your Facebook and Twitter accounts on packaging can plant the seed, and ultimately gain more followers. Direct existing customers to your online store and highlight promotions or offers that are currently available. This also ensures more traffic on your company website.

Listen and react: Social networks are the best place to find out what is in customer demand and what isn't. Monitoring programmes based on keywords in relation to your products is a good idea when expanding target audience. This would occur for example if you were running a computing company and wanted to increase sales in computer repairs, you would monitor the term ‘computer repair’ and you would be connected with people who are seeking such a service.

Encourage customers to share their experiences: If your customer service base is online then you are able to respond quickly to any queries or complaints. If you gain a good reputation for dealing with these then customers will start to spread the word about the company, therefore, attracting more buyers. This generally works best if you build good relationships online with fans, and respond to the less important queries also.

Push for customer reviews: Setting up a user review system can help no end. Obviously good reviews will help that specific product and draw in outsiders, but the more prolific reviewers can be rewarded with special rates and discounts. A review system also keeps people on your site for longer, increasing the chances that they will make a purchase.

Social media coupons: 'Facebook offers' is a good example of promoting social coupons, and if you engage customers around one product for a low price, then they are more likely to purchase more than that one item at a time. Here you can also look at your own products and see which ones sell more, and also which ones need more marketing behind them.

If your business is online, then it would be foolish not to be considering the points above. Business is about spreading the word and through social networking this can be done whilst boosting sales, and generating a massive customer database.
