The White House On Pinterest

Home to the President of the United States of America, The White House has announced that they are now officially using Pinterest.

With only 1 pin noticeable, the page already has almost 8,000 followers. The White House claims that they will use the content sharing site for matters such as “inspiring quotes and images” and “infographics that help explain key issues to details about the life inside the White House.”

An official blog has said that “from the very beginning, President Obama and the First Lady have taken steps to make this the most open White House in history.”

The President and his First Lady Michelle Obama already have Pinterest accounts to their name. Both of their accounts had created campaign related pinboards in the lead up to the Presidential election but have not made a pin in about a month.

The new White House Pinterest account will likely become the official account for the Obama family and will officially start pinning on December 17th.

To commemorate their arrival into Pinterest, the page is hosting a contest to let people visit the residence for a “Holiday Social.” To enter the contest, users have to follow the White House on the social platform and follow instructions through their first pin.
