New Website Allows You to Transform Instagram Images Into Colouring Book Pages

For reasons that I really shouldn't have to explain, colouring books are now as, if not more popular with adults than they are with children. With iPads, VR headsets and other things with the word 'smart' tacked onto the front, the idea of colouring in an outline on a piece of paper probably seems baffling to many children. Adults, on the other hand, are often addicts for that little hit of nostalgia, especially if it gives them something simple, but creative to do to distract themselves from all the monotony of, y'know, being an adult.

Adult colouring books are all the rage at the moment, and what better way to capitalise on that trend further still than to get Instagram involved. After seeing his fiancee using an adult colouring book, LA resident Cory will had the bright idea to create a personalised one, and what better source of personal photographs than Instagram?

Thus, My Colour Me Book was born. Simply upload images from your Instagram account, and you'll receive a set of traced, colourless versions which you can then set about with your crayons, pencils and felt tips. You can either order 1 page ($5) or a 5 page book ($25). In either case, they come as a digital download. There are also 3 pre-made books available (Festival, Brunch and Yoga, presumably soon to be followed by Hipster Event Horizon), I guess as a kind of proof of concept/something for people to try out straight away before putting their own order in.

You could, of course, use somebody else's Instagram for this, which could lead to some amusing offerings, but it's with remembering that other people are going to be seeing/stenciling the images, so maybe think twice before trying to get a colour-in version of those leaked Jennifer Lawrence photos. Then go away for a few days and re-evaluate your life.

The best way to make use of this is probably as a gift for someone, a partner or a close friend. It's a neat way of bringing Instagram culture into the physical world, and a means of embellishing photos without caking them in layers upon layers of filters.
