One Direction Split Sparks Amazing Twitter Reactions

billboard.com
One Direction have somehow made it onto Social Songbird yet again. This time however, there is a slight whiff of relief in the air as we think, maybe.. just maybe.. this will be the last one (at least for a while).

Sources everywhere are now talking about the upcoming "split" of the cheesy boy band. That's if we can even call it a split. It's a predetermined break, if you ask me. A hiatus. The boys want a bit of time to work on their own stuff as of March 2016. I didn't even know splits were this organised, but at least they're giving their fans plenty of warning.

Anyway, as you can imagine, with news this huge and heartbreaking, comes a storm of tweeting 1D fans/trolls everywhere:

Some of the reactions have been hilarious. Like seriously.
Hats off to ITV2 for getting involved with what is perhaps my favourite reaction gif of the day!

If only we had to wait this long before 1D reform... I can imagine it will be in the much more immediate future.

But the reactions aren't all mickey-taking and jeering. Of course, One Direction do actually have some fans... Like this unlikely bunch at De Montfort University.

This poor soul can't quite believe the "rumours." I swear, if this is just a rumour...

And this one... I mean wow... so deep. I sure am glad they shared their opinion.
And this ... Are they in denial?

But my favourite is this one... It sums up perfectly how I feel and how (I'm sure) many others around me feel, especially after a slow year of listening to nonstop 1D antics and seeing what lengths their mentalist fans will go to for one last replay of "Best Song Ever."
