We will be covering the event all day and every day LIVE on Twitter @SocialSongbird_
The media and attendees are arriving. Pretty much every desk in the Media Village is occupied but luckily we’ve managed to find some seats.
At 5pm we will see and hear the first group of early-stage Start-ups sharing with all of us what they do and their vision, this is a great opportunity for them to get exposure with investors attending the summit.
At 5:50pm we have a second group of start-ups and at 6:15pm Paddy Cosgrave will officially open the Web Summit 2019.
Today's talks will start with Edward Snowden, former CIA, a name familiar to us, the person who lived a life hiding and now fights for freedom of speech. Today Edward will be talking in detail about what he did, why he did it and how it shaped his life.
The second talk will be Portugal and the Tech World. this talk will be about how Portugal and Lisbon specifically is attracting World Class Tech companies and having a look at how there are more and more Portuguese tech companies arising locally.
The next talk will be about 5G+X, by Huawei President Guo Ping. He’ll be talking about his vision for the tech giant’s future.
After that will be a talk on a topic of everyone's interest, Saving the planet, one drop at a time, and how water, is attracting the new generation of entrepreneurs.
And finally, the Official Opening Ceremony, hosted by Paddy Cosgrave (Web Summit founder), Pedro Siza Vieira ( Government of Portugal) and Fernando Medina (City of Lisbon)
