Photo of Dog's Muzzle Taped Up Causes Concern over Animal Cruelty

Independent
You just wonder with some people don't you? I'm sorry but I have no tolerance when it comes to mistreating animals. I know that they have to be trained but there are ways to do it. Don't have animals if you are just going to treat them badly. A woman dug herself a hole over the weekend when she posted a picture of her dog and she had taped its muzzle because it wouldn't stop barking. Another awful thing about about this? She is a local dog walker.

After having made the statement, people starting responding, telling her that what she had done was wrong. Soon enough the South Daytona Police Department got involved. People posted to the City Of South Daytona Facebook account to which they responded.

The South Daytona Police are aware of the disturbing Facebook posting and photo by Katie Brown regarding her treatment...

She then thought it appropriate to explain herself. Of course it still didn't change anything as she should not have done it in the first place. It sparked yet another lot of comments about how she has clearly mistreated her pet. Amongst those a couple of people did defend her, saying that it was none of anyone's business how she deals with her animals. I disagree but there you go. The Volusia County Animal Service also had something to say about it all as they confirmed that the police were investigating and that they appreciated the concern for the poor dog.

Dont panic everyone it was only for a minute but hasnt barked since... POINT MADE!!!

Originally it seemed that Katie Brown was located in Daytona but her family confirmed that she hadn't lived there for a while. They then suspected she was in Connecticut, and the local Animal Rescue Centre was flooded with even more concerns and emails. They asked people to understand that they were trying their best to read all the messages and they are taking the matter very seriously. Whichever police department tracks her down eventually, will be truly rewarded by the public. They have had great words of encouragement and support

Thank you for caring about this pup ! God bless him . I hope she is punished and made to see that this is NOT ok ! I...

She surely doesn't think she is going to get away with anything now? The original post has been removed although she claims that someone else posted it and not her. No one believes her as she did post that next comment about it teaching her dog a lesson. Either way she is being tracked down as we speak and I hope that she gets the treatment she deserves.
