Trending Tees Take off in Oz

Social Media has found yet another platform to use. Fashion.

Australian designers, Left.Of The Label, have come up with an idea to print t-shirts and singlets with anything on. Well anything from the world of social media.

news.com.au

They say on their website:

'It’s a pretty simple concept; we’re dedicated to reflecting the zeitgeist of our era through wearing what everyone in saying.'
Currently, there are a total of just under 20 garments on the site, all priced between $39-$45 AUD. The shirts are basic, overpriced and come with that rustic (easy to achieve) unfinished look round the hem. But hey, hipsters will pay good money to look basic.

Despite my initial animosity towards the innocent tees, I must say now that I appreciate their comedic eye and praise their creativity.

Overall, I think it’s a good idea. I’m a particularly big fan of having the poo emoji on my chest. Really, I am.

I like the way the site is set out. Each product has a kooky little description and the slogans and #hashtags are all original and recognisable, with a hint of sass. And we all know I love a bit of sass.

A personal favourite: ‘If I was a Kardashian, I wouldn’t have to deal with this’ – the description beneath says ‘Kimmy K would die over this.’

Genius… you know, other than the slight tense mix-up with ‘was’ and ‘were’- but we’ll overlook that for now.

I think the minds behind this are onto something. And yes, unfortunately there are plenty of folk out there trying hell-a hard to get a look like this and $45 is a bargain (apparently).

With the additional charge of $15 for shipping and handling to the UK, we might not be seeing any poomoji tees or #freethenipple singlets floating round town any time soon. However, it won’t be long until a European t-shirt company picks up the same idea and then we’ll be swamped.
