Social Media Tips - Make Your Business Relationships More Savvy

Making bridges with social media

Making or maintaining a relationship on social media doesn’t just have to be restricted to personal profiles. There’s more to building a Facebook relationship than sending a message to someone you haven’t seen since school, or retweeting someone’s tweet so they know you’re thinking of them.

Making bridges with social media

It’s important for a company to branch out and make connections on social even if they aren’t official or professional connections to the business as a whole. There’s no harm in the “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” approach to social media.

By connecting with a different company on social, you’re effectively combining the ability that you both have on those particular social platforms. If you can offer something to another business that may help them in the long run, then there’s no reason not to offer some assistance if they can offer some exposure in return.

By associating with one another on social, this can also lead to wider benefits for all involved. When users of Facebook, Twitter and so on see the connection that you have, they’ll begin to associate each company with one another – everyone’s a winner.

Meaningful business relationships can also be made in a personal sense on LinkedIn, Often deemed the ‘professional’ version of Facebook, users can connect with one another to compare their job experiences and view what others have achieved. Effectively an online CV, companies can actively seek individuals that they think would be perfect for their organisation.

The site is also a brilliant way to find jobs that you’re interested in. By making relationships (connections) with other users, you’ll expand the variety of opportunities that you can find. By just having a connection with other users, that exposes you to a lot of possibilities and adds to your professional persona on the online world.

Making bridges with social media

Although social media is a place where people can be talk with friends and relax in an online form, it’s also a public place where professional relationships can take place and careers are formed. A place where businesses are trying to out-punch one another, meaningful business relationships can only help increase the longevity of a social presence.
