Social Media Promotions Of The Week: 21/06/13

Red Bull are back with a bang in this week’s SMPW, displaying exactly why they’re one of the most popular brands on social media. Evian are also running a new social media campaign this week, as are Coors and VO5. Zico Coconut Water, a health-conscious refreshment company, round up the list of five:

1. Red Bull – Danny MacAskill’s Imaginate



This amazing video, in which Scottish trials cyclist Danny MacAskill’s invites the viewers inside his imagination, has been viewed almost a million times on YouTube in less than two days.

On his bike, Danny jumps over dice, front flips onto balls and uses crayons as tightropes. This is the second video collaboration between MacAskill and Red Bull. The video has been viewed over 2 million times on the Red Bull website.

2. EvianWimbledon Wiggle 




The UK branch of French water company Evian are offering VIP Wimbledon tickets to people who send in videos of their version of the ‘Wimbledon Wiggle’ – the little dance tennis players do before they receive a serve.

A special Facebook app has been set up were fans can post their attempts at the dance. The best videos will be rewarded with VIP tickets.

3. VO5 – Extreme Shampooing



Remember extreme ironing? Well, now VO5 is trying to start extreme shampooing, a new craze where daredevils wash shampoo out of their hair in extreme ways.

VO5 has challenged vlogger Jim Chapman to wash his hair in four crazy ways: under a waterfall, by fire hose, whilst speed boating along the Thames and bungee jumping.

The four stunt videos are supported on other social media sites by the hashtag #extremeshampooing.

4. Coors LightDamme Cold Call 



The face of Coors Light UK, Jean Claude Van Damme, will prank call your friends!

The Muscles From Brussels and Coors Light UK have created a Facebook app where fans can enter a friend’s details and choose phrases for JCVD to say.

The victim of the prank call is given a voucher for a free Coors Light four pack at participating stores, or a pint at selected pubs.

5. Zico Coconut Water#TheEveryDayActive Campaign 



Zico Coconut Water and singer/songwriter Jessie Ware have teamed up in an effort to get more people in the country exercising regularly.

The campaign was launched by an exclusive Jessie Ware gig in the Gherkin, earlier this week. The hashtag #TheEveryDayActive will continue to publicise the campaign across social media sites.
