Quora Launches Blog And Rich Text Editor

Question and Answer website, Quora, announced a new mission last month to grow and share knowledge around the world. This mission has been revealed to include the launching of new blogs, and use of a rich text editor.

CEO of Quora, Adam D’Angelo revealed that the site would be growing beyond the Q&A format that it is known for and that this extension has already begun to take place.

Similar to the question and answer part of the website, the blog posts will be categorised into over 300,000 relevant topics. These different topics are/will be followed by users of the site who will, as a result, be able to then read the blog posts.

Kah Keng Tay of Quora said that: “this is different than other platforms where your audience is dependant on how many people follow you personally . . . In addition, because of the way that Quora works (i.e., feed, search, the topic system, other distribution channels), your old posts and answers remain discoverable and re-discoverable as Quora’s audience grows.”

Rich-text editor has also come for the iPhone due to an update that the company has now launched.

Richard Henry of Quora wrote that: “the new editor includes bold/italics/underline, lists, numbered lists, links, inline photos uploaded from the camera roll or saved from the web, and blockquotes.”

The most active writers average for Quora is 90,000 plus views per month and receives an estimation of over a million annual views.
